How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment by calling us at (201) 608-0670 directly during our working hours or going online and booking through Zocdoc.

What do I bring to my scheduled office appointment?

Apart from your insurance and Medicare information you are required to bring the following:

  • Driver’s License or any other valid ID
  • X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, and other reports and relevant information
  • Names of the medications that you are taking (if any)
  • Referral letter (if required)

Is a referral required to request an appointment?

In many cases, a medical specialist accepts only referred patients. This is to ensure that the specialist you are visiting suits your specific needs. Moreover, Medicare pays higher rebates for specialist services if you have been referred. Check with your insurance provider for your particular requirements.

Will my medical records be kept private and confidential?

Maintaining privacy of your health records is of utmost important to us. Our staff maintains strict confidentiality requirements with regard to your medical records, which is one of the conditions of employment. Without your consent, the contents of your medical file will not be released.

What role does my family doctor play in finding specialist medical care?

It is always helpful to talk to your family doctor before seeing any medical specialist. He or she can guide you while obtaining appropriate specialist care that is best suited for your needs. In addition, your family doctor can aid the specialist by providing relevant information about your health. This collaboration in turn helps your family doctor to care for your better during and after your specialist treatment.

What is the fastest way to get my results?

If the lab results are not on the patient portal, then we suggest calling the office at 201-608-0670 and leaving a message with us.Someone should get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.

If I want a copy of my records, what do I do?

You can access your lab reports and office visit details on the patient online portal. If you have any questions regarding this, please email Michelle to get your password and login information. Her email is mleiva@bcgynecology.com.

Another way to receive your results is to fill out the medical records release form which is located on this webpage under the patient documents section. Clearly indicate where you would like the results sent to. Fax the form back to our office at (201) 781-7821, and call us informing us that you sent the form. The turn around time for a medical records request is 1-2 weeks.

I was charged $25 dollars because I did not cancel my appointment. Why do I have to pay this?

There is a $25 convenience fee for patients who routinely do not show up for their appointment and do not cancel 24 hours ahead of time. We do not like to charge patients this, but when we see that someone repeatedly does not respect our time and does not give us advanced notice regarding their appointment cancellation, we will charge them.

Do you take my insurance?

The best way to find out is to call us and have your insurance information ready. We will try to verify this with your insurance, but we do need advanced notice. If you show up on the day of the visit without providing insurance information, you may need to wait ahead of time until we verify it for you. Our office number is (201) 608-0670. Alternatively, you can be proactive and call your insurance and check to see if our physician is in network with your plan.
